Grilled Flank Steak |
||||||||
| Must use a charcoal grill! You will need a HOT fire! INGREDIENTS: flank steak, approximately 1-1/2 lb. 1 garlic clove 2 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet (a browning and seasoning sauce found at your grocer) 3/4 stick of butter 2 tsp. meat tenderizer 1. Start a HOT charcoal fire on the Cook 'N' Kettle Jr. or Sr. Coals should be hot enough that you cannot hold your hand over the grill for more than 2 seconds. 2. Combine the garlic, Kitchen Bouquet, butter, and meat tenderizer in a microwavable container. 3. Melt the combination in the microwave. 4. Place the steak directly over the coals on the center of the grill. Set time for 3 minutes (more time if steak is larger). 5. Brush 1/2 of the sauce on the steak as it is grilling. NOTE, fire will flame up and smoke. This is desirable. 6. After 3-5 minutes turn the steak over. 7. Brush the remaining sauce on the steak. Again, grill for 3-5 minutes and remove from grill. 8. Let steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve. Hot coals sear in juice and flavor. Sauce tenderizes steak. |
